Remove Unauthorized Constructions in KEM Ahead of its Centennial Labor Leader Ramesh Jadhav's Letter to the Commissioner

K.E.M. Hospital's building will complete 100 years in the next two years. In light of this, preserving this hospital for another hundred years and removing unauthorized constructions within it has been requested by labor leader Ramesh Jadhav. He has written a letter to Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani regarding this.

Jadhav mentioned in his letter that the entire unauthorized construction in K.E.M's heritage building, which was built without any official plan by the concerned authorities, should be demolished, and the original structure of the building, in its 'heritage' architectural form, should be restored to its former state. Celebrating the hospital's centennial anniversary is essential.

On one hand, the heritage structure should be preserved, and on the other hand, there should be plans to start new, modern buildings with advanced services and medicines.

Jadhav emphasized the need to free the area near the hospital’s main entrance from the grip of unauthorized constructions.

In his letter, Jadhav also suggested that the current situation in the hospital is extremely inconvenient. Despite having entrance gates on all four sides, only the main entrance is used for the movement of patients, citizens, and staff. As a result, the security personnel stationed there face a lot of challenges. If all the gates are utilized, it will ease the movement for patients and citizens, creating more open space in the hospital.

Copies of Jadhav's letter have also been sent to the Additional Commissioner, Health Department, and the Assistant Commissioner of the Health Department.
